Ritabhari Chakraborty Career
Chakraborty started out her modeling career when she was still in high school. She made her first appearance on television following her 10th board examination as the female protagonist of the popular Indian Bengali TV.
In the Bengali television show Ogo Bodhu Sundari, Chakraborty started as the female protagonist. Due to the tremendous success of the series, a remake has also been made to its Hindi counterpart as Sasural Genda Phool.
Also, she played the protagonist in another TV show, Chokher Tara Tui, that aired on STAR Jalsha. She had to leave the show prematurely because of health concerns, however.
Chakraborty was also a member of the Jojok theater party. She had played the part of Charulata, directed by Gautam Halder (in a theatrical adaptation of Tagore’s Noshtonir).
Ritabhari Chakraborty Films
In 2011, with the film Tomar Shange Praner Khela, directed by Rakesh Kumar, who also directed Sasural Genda Phool, she was set to make her big screen debut. The film was shelved later though. She went on to act in other films such as Barood and Tobu Basanta. She also starred in the multi star film Chotushkone by Srijit Mukherji in October 2014.
She has been seen in Bawal, an Indian Bengali drama film directed by Biswaroop Biswas. In 2015 she went on to work at Onyo Apalaa which was an official Indian Panorama range. Following Naked’s release in 2017,
Chakraborty was cast in the Bollywood horror film, ‘Pari’ starring Anushka Sharma as the lead heroine. Her last release was Shesh Theke Shuru with Bengali star Jeet, who performed in the box office on average despite seeing her success.
