Leonie Buchegger was born on December 19, 2003, in Vienna, Austria. Now she is 21 years old, from a young age, she was curious about the world. At age 12, she joined a three-week language exchange program in California. When she was 15, she studied for a year in the United States.
By 17, she was traveling across Europe during school breaks. She met online friends who later became her closest friends. After finishing high school at 18, she took a gap year to travel and figure out her future.

She completed high school before deciding to travel full-time. Her gap year gave her the chance to focus on what she truly loved—photography and exploring the world.
Career
She began photography in 2018, taking pictures of animals. Later, she shifted her focus to fashion and editorial photography. Over the past few years, she has worked with several companies and gained experience in photography, social media, writing, and journalism.
She has worked in over ten countries and traveled to more than 35 countries. Her photos have been featured on Vogue Italia Online, and she has worked with well-known brands like Coca-Cola, Samsung, PS of Sweden, and The Gentleman.
In 2022, she left for Costa Rica with a one-way ticket and a small backpack. Since then, she has traveled full-time, visiting 17 countries in one year. She prefers to travel like a “broke backpacker,” connecting with locals and experiencing cultures deeply. She has stayed with an indigenous tribe in the Amazon, explored markets in Morocco, and even slept in a car at -17°C under the Northern Lights in Norway.
Her passion for photojournalism grew through these raw and real travel experiences.
